I sold an article to a MAG
Recently I sold an article to an online magazine and I am quite proud of this. I stepped out of my comfort zone to do this, and I am so glad I did. Too many times, we writers end up caught in a comfort zone and see no way out of it. I was there, but I stepped out of it.
I did not want to do print magazines because of the slow turn around time and as a single parent, I need money now. I knew I needed sure money and that is what content writing is for me. We all know how little the upfront payments on those content articles are, from a buck to five generally which means a ton of articles to survive.
A friend Michy suggested everyone on her forum take the plunge and do one article or query a day for print before we begin our daily batch of content articles. This way we are doing both, and within a few months we can cut back on our work. This seems to be the answer I was looking for.
Even though I applied for that job at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago, I really do not want it I want to write and be successful. I know I can be successful, I have over 700 articles on associated content, and in the top 1,000 writers and am with 100,000 page views of a million views. I have been there eighteen months, so I feel I am doing fairly well there. My page view bonuses are a few hundred a month, so I am successful there as well. I do not wish to write 150 articles at 4 or five dollars a piece to be successful. I write for other sites as well, all of them are low paying but they help me to pay the bills.
